The Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation stretches from west of Tucson to east of Ajo, Arizona. Unlike some reservations, these Indians did not have to move from their home territory to be on the reservation. They've been able to stay where they’ve always been.

从图森往西的主道(AZ86号公路)，就是通往望远镜的道路，也要穿过保护区，一路还有通往各个村庄的小路。在图森，虽然许多比较新的泥砖房屋与旧房子相似，但是还是有许多房屋是用当地的仙人掌茎抹上泥土建造的。我很喜欢。
The main road west from Tucson (AZ 86) that is the road to the telescopes also passes through the reservation with side roads leading to various villages. Although many newer dwellings of mud adobe are similar to older homes in Tucson, there are still many made of the native saguaro cactus ribs plastered with mud. I like ‘em.
